Job Locations: Webster, NY

Database Administrator IV responsible for project delivery and database Production support.

Duties include:

  • Creation, support, maintenance, and administration of Sqlserver2012 and SQLServer 2014 database HA and Always on databases, including cloud systems.
  • Testing disaster recovery scenarios for SQLserver database including HA and Always ON environments; Test and perform advanced recoveries.
  • Creation, support, maintenance, and administration of Azure cloud databases.
  • Monitoring, patching and configuration of SQLServer databases on various platforms.
  • Creation, support, maintenance, and administration of SQLServer, MongoDB, and/or MySQL databases.
  • Research and resolve issues to provide support of critical databases.
  • Troubleshoot complex database issues.
  • Independently perform functions to administer system access and work with Enterprise Data and Information Security and Change Management to ensure internal controls compliance.

  • Participate in code reviews, test code on implementation test servers and support Production code releases within an Agile framework.
  • Take the lead DBA role on projects and initiatives; Coordinate the tasks of others.
  • Create and review technical documentation for accuracy and completeness.
  • Serve as SME in at least one product and its supporting database technology.
  • Prepare and deliver presentations to team and managers.
Requirements

Minimum Requirements:

Master’s in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or related field, plus 3 years of experience in database administration. (In the alternative, will accept BS plus 5 years of progressively responsible experience as described.)

Experience, which may be gained concurrently, must include:

  • 3 years installing, configuring, and patching databases and database-related software utilities for SQLServer HA or Mirroring/non -HA environments.

  • 3 years of IT experience in Development/ Operations environment.

  • 3 years experience with SQLServer, SSIS/SSRS, PowerShell;

  • 3 years developing scripts to monitor, automate and support database environments.

  • 3 years developing and testing backup and recovery processes along with Disaster recovery validations to ensure high availability and recoverability of databases.

  • 3 years of experience in configuring and managing Always-On Availability groups using SQL 2012 or SQL 2014 or SQL 2016 and using Azure environment.

  • 1 year of experience in in Azure Runbooks, Elastic pools, Azure Database monitoring, Azure Automation accounts, Log Analytics Querystore.

  • 3 years of experience in writing complex SQL queries, and using Scripting languages.

  • 3 years utilizing SQLServer Support for research and submission of SQLServer support requests.

  • 3 years collecting and analyzing data for capacity planning / performance monitoring.

  • 3 years of experience using Idera, GitBucket, REDGate Tools

  • 1 year experience with payroll processing applications and related database processes and infrastructure.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills required.

  • Position requires participation in off-hours support rotation.
