PEO Payroll Supervisor - HROi
Plans, organizes and directs activities of Supervisors and Payroll Specialists engaged in the payroll taking function and ensures effective use of resources
Monitors and measures payroll team activity and productivity to ensure that all PBS objectives are met regarding client retention and satisfaction.
Recruits, selects, hires, and evaluates performance of personnel to ensure that all payroll processing needs are handled appropriately. Counsels and develops staff for personal and professional advancement through career development, training programs, and other resources.
Analyzes payroll programs, activities, policies, and procedures and recommends product enhancements where necessary to meet client needs and to ensure continued product growth.
Schedules time away from the office for assigned personnel to ensure proper coverage in anticipation of business cycles.
Oversee daily payroll operations.
Development of department goals, budget controls, process improvements and employee motivation strategies.
Implements, and monitors on-the-job training and education to ensure professional advancement of assigned personnel.
Provides technical expertise on multiple product lines to resolve problems regarding client concerns and Paychex policy/procedures. Interfaces with Field, Interoffice and HRS personnel to identify and resolve system issues.
Makes client visits/calls to resolve problems and review payroll service as needed.
Maintains knowledge of changes in the payroll system and software, the PEO Industry, wage and tax law, and Paychex/PEO policies/procedures to further personal professional development. Reviews and recommends system changes to maintain integrity of the payroll system.
Ensure payroll team leads track the status of payrolls to be processed and are shipped daily within the current time guidelines.
Demonstrate a sense of urgency that projects the importance of payroll processing.
Acts as a liaison with PEO and HRS partners to assist with resolution of client payroll issues.
Provides feedback and makes suggestions to PEO and HRS partners regarding products or trends that negatively impact clients to ensure high quality service is provided.
Identify areas of department weaknesses and make recommendations to Vice President, Payroll Operations to consider for improvements.
Oversee year end and other periodic operational responsibilities offering suggestions and solutions.
Assist team leads in developing systems to track the progress of payroll specialists by identifying and reporting employee's strengths and weaknesses.
Support the rollout of new systems and products to clients.
Assist in disaster recovery when needed.
- Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Computer Science.
- 4 years of experience in Paychex/PEO Payroll Specialist/Senior Payroll Specialist.
