The Corporate Applications teams enable many of our business units at Paychex such as Sales, Marketing, HR, Finance, and Risk organizations with enterprise-wide data and analytics. Working closely with our business stakeholders, we define, plan and execute technology initiatives that drive revenue, increase sales units... , attract/hire/retain top talent, and manage and improve financial results.

We combine the best commercially available products with our extensions and integrations in concert with leading edge software delivery practices and technology. Our Corporate Applications ecosystem includes Salesforce.com and Oracle E-Business Suite (EBS/HCM/ERP) along with many supporting applications and platforms. We leverage Salesforce to manage our lead flow and sales forming and maturing our Oracle ERP practice with a transition to Oracle OCI cloud for integrations. Most of our software is designed for multiple release times per day using a continuous delivery pipeline, providing automated regressions tests and deployment.

We organize critical information across our business in our business intelligence and data management practice. We leverage database appliances such as Oracle Exadata with Oracle Data Integrator (ODI) for ETL to provide several data warehouses and data marts. This data is leveraged via many platforms including Oracle Analytics Cloud and R Studio Server. As a result, we enable thousands of self-service dashboards and reports throughout the business as well as countless data discovery use cases. Our Data Science practice community develops and maintains over 100 models, some of which are enabled by this data to drive key business processes, service experiences, and critical decision-making.

In the Enterprise Program Office, we lead the development, communication, and execution of strategies to achieve portfolio goals. Paychex PD&IT typically has about 75-95 projects running concurrently, and the Enterprise Program ...Office leads all of them. Through cross-functional collaboration and partnership, the Enterprise Program Office drives the strategic prioritization process, develops the annual roadmap, and plans all PD&IT initiatives across 150+ agile teams. Program Management is used as our operational model, which includes inspection of application health, performance, security, and project execution on a biweekly basis with senior leaders.

We pride ourselves on being an industry leading Agile Practitioner. Our teams use the SAFe Framework with a focus on Program Increment Planning to ensure dependencies are identified across teams. Our sprint planning calendar is standardized across the entire enterprise to ensure alignment on very integrated and complicated projects. We have standard agile metrics around velocity, commit to complete and quality and facilitate agile team self-assessments semi-annually.

Paychex IT Service Desk is the front door into PD&IT and focuses on providing world-class end-user support to over 15,000 internal Paychex employees on technical issues around hardware, software, and IT service catalog requests. Our IT Service Desk employees excel in their support of both the latest industry leading technology, and the proprietary ...software of our internal Paychex products. Additionally, we lead service restoration efforts on some of our largest, most critical customer-facing system outages and application impairments.

Regardless of the size of the problem, our IT Service Desk solves it through a number of methods like technical troubleshooting, a constantly evolving knowledge management database that is 100% driven by our employees, elevated access, and the latest IT troubleshooting tools like Splunk, SQL, ServiceNow, Atlassian, BitBucket and others. Our IT Service Desk has a wide variety of functional efforts and teams that empower both internal end-users and Paychex clients to be successful. Here are a few of those teams and some really cool things they are up to: Desktop and Application-Based Support Teams – these teams are always hard at work restoring service on some of our top end-user issues. Whether it’s related to Desktop support issues like hardware and unified communications OR our proprietary software for our SAAS technology, our Enterprise Support teams are there 24x7 via click-to-chat, self-service solutions or live call support.

Problem Management – this team uses environment monitoring and our vast knowledge database to identify trends in Production-based incidents with the focus of eliminating our top occurring issues and largest IT pain-points. IT Technical Account Management – our IT Technical Account Management team forms essential technical partnerships with Paychex largest, most valuable clients through internal relationship building, strong leadership skills, and vast product knowledge.

Situational Leadership – this team performs one of the most critical roles in the company; they are responsible for coordinating and executing the highest priority issues affecting system downtime, internal employee productivity or safety, business continuity procedures (BCP), and many other high-visibility/high-risk issues.
