Diversity, Equity and Inclusion

Appreciating our diversity of talent, skills, and experiences is an important part of our Respect value and helps build a culture of belonging where everyone can thrive.

In 2023, we made tremendous strides in our DEI program. We established a DEI Advisory Board and expanded our Employee Business Resource Groups to give employees the opportunity to grow and be exposed to senior leaders while advocating for underserved communities and supporting the business. We also mobilized Regional Networks across several large Paychex locations nationwide to help employees connect and grow.

Paychex CEO John Gibson signed the CEO Action for Diversity & InclusionTM pledge in 2023, reaffirming a commitment his predecessor, Martin Mucci, made in 2020. The pledge demonstrates that DEI remains a top priority for the company and exemplifies the support from Paychex leaders. 

Part of our DEI journey involves an intentional focus on working with the Paychex Foundation to identify charitable organizations that we can support that support our communities. In 2023 we donated to organizations such as the Thurgood Marshall College Fund, Asian Americans Advancing Justice and The Gary Sinise Foundation. These charitable donations went directly to the communities we live in and serve by supporting programs that advance the next generation of the workforce, community leaders and policy development.

It’s ingrained in our culture and is central to our corporate identity.

Being a good steward of the earth is essential for putting ‘good’ to work. Every year, we find more ways to take care of our planet and reduce the environmental impact of our operations. Whether it’s designing our facilities, reducing waste, or encouraging grassroots efforts from employees, the “Paychex Cares” mantra applies all around us too.

The Paychex voluntary well-being program supports employees in making health a priority. It addresses the environmental and cultural factors that influence all dimensions of well-being, including physical, social-emotional, financial, community, and career.
