I would characterize Paychex’s culture as one that offers acceptance, motivation, and a reward of confidence. My supervisor and coworkers see me beyond just being a young intern and have allowed and supported me in exploring what a professional job entails.
If a student is thinking about doing an internship with Paychex, my primary piece of advice would be not to be afraid to ask questions and to realize that there are a lot of people here to support and guide them through the internship process so they can learn a great deal about Paychex. Overall, working at Paychex has been an amazing experience, and I highly recommend clicking the apply button!
Paychex always puts the team first. I have really enjoyed interacting with my managers and team leads, as they are always approachable, willing to help me, and show that they care about my success. This attitude is something that I identify with and has influenced the kind of team member and leader that I have become.
My biggest takeaway is that I shouldn’t fear pushing myself to new limits. To truly transform and grow, you need to be able to self-initiate. Paychex encourages this by teaching interns to “run into the fire.” By embracing this mindset, you can find a passion inside you that you weren’t aware of.
My fondest memory was working on my capstone project with other interns. In addition to having a great opportunity to lead and explore, I made a genuine connection with my team. In my opinion, a good team is essential to a positive experience.
Don’t be afraid to speak up. Your internship is YOUR experience, so it is up to you to make the most of it. Paychex’s environment promotes teamwork and collaboration so no matter the area you want to explore, you will find someone willing to help you.
Paychex’s culture is extremely welcoming. With most online jobs, you can feel alone or not a part of the team. Our leadership makes sure to alleviate those worries as soon as your first day. Paychex values your character, not only the work you can do.
Through the constant team meetings and group projects, you will have no problem connecting. For me, I work better when I enjoy my team, so I naturally wanted to get to know people better. With this in mind, it is important to use active listening. Make you listen and recognize what your coworkers are saying.
